Let’s explore all food things Asian! Member Mary Chao has offered to lead us on a day of learning and enjoying treats from China, Korea and Mongolia.
This is a very popular restaurant in the height of lunch hour, please be on time. I've set our meeting time at 11:45 so we can gather and get ahead of any line if it forms. The restaurant opens at Noon. We have to confirm the number of guests 2 days before - please no last minute cancellations (within 48 hours before the event). Thank you!
We’ll begin our day at Happy Lamb Hot Pot (formerly Little Sheep) in Edison known for an 8-hour bone marrow broth, premium lamb selections and a no dipping approach to hot pot/Mongolian Grill (though sauces are avialable if desired). Trip Advisor rates this restaurant #11 of 308 restaurants in Edison.
They have an all you can eat menu prices depend on what you select to add - the range is between $22 and $40 (generally $24- $25). They have a $19.99 all you can eat special for those aged 55plus (MUST HAVE ID) (drinks, tax and tip extra). The bill will be split in two.
Mary will then lead us through Ranch 99, a Chinese grocery store, located in Edison explaining the foods, ingredients and tools (maybe pickup some sauces for easy dishes to make at home). 99 Ranch Market has become one of the largest Asian supermarket chains in the US. ADDRESS: 561 US Highway 1, Edison
Then it’s onto a tour of H Mart in the same plaza to see Korean food choices. It is the largest Asian supermarket chain in America with food and upscale offerings. Address: 1761 Rte 27 (Lincoln Highway) Edison
We're lucky to have Mary to lead us on these food tours. So come explore new foods, techniques, sights and sounds of the Asian food world - whether a seasoned chef or an adventurous soul it's sure to be something different.
