This is a closed group of 60 members
In order to cover Meetup.com's fees to use their platform, there is an annual fee of only $10.00 to join this group. Membership will be limited to 60 women to keep it manageable, allow people with similar interests to join this low-keyed fun group and get to know each other better. We are women with 60+ years of experience, getting together in the spirit of friendship and sharing those experiences. Should you join and decide to cancel at any time, there will be no refund, dues are payable on June 1 of each year and the rate for new members is not pro-rated regardless of when you join.
We are a located in Durham Region Ontario Canada.. getting together to socialize and make new friendships through events such as theatre outings, potlucks, movies, music, card games, book clubs, golf, and day trips. Everyone who joins the group is invited and highly encouraged to become an Event Coordinator. If you come up with an idea and want other women to join you, just create an event and invite everyone in the group. For example, if you want to go for a hike, create a Book Club, spend the day in Port Perry, Sand Banks, Toronto, etc., or spend a vacation somewhere special but have no one to travel with, just post the event and the amazing women who can join you are right here!
You must be 60+ years to join our group, post a valid and clear recent picture of yourself only (please do not include family members or pets), and we also require the actual month, e.g. January, and day of your birth. As we are a women's group, we do not encourage inclusion of your spouse or boyfriends although some ladies who have male partners occasionally open their homes to host an event. We also ask if you RSVP that you plan to attend an event, that you do not cancel unless something happens that is out of your control.
As this is a small group, in order to make room for other members to join, any members after 6 months of non-attendance will be removed .
Please do not invite friends or guests to another member's home. The open house events are for our trusted members only.
