The weather is starting to get nice and warm here in Denmark. But in the game world of Gerda - A Flame In Winter, it was a cold and bleak winter in 1945, where the Gestapo still controlled the country with an iron fist. Hear how that might have sounded in this edition of Game Audio Playthrough, where sound designer Jakob Støvring Hansen will keep you warm with insightful anecdotes from the game.

The talk will cover the game's music systems and aesthetics, as well as its general sound design approach. Through a mix of slides and gameplay, Jakob will talk about how these elements came together to shape the player experience and the overall atmosphere of the game.
Learn how the team used Unity, Wwise, and their visual scripting tool “Graphenheimer”, without getting too deep into too many technical details. Furthermore, Jakob will touch upon some of the obstacles they faced while developing the game and what solutions he found to tackle them.
