**💥Game Audio Talk - Explosions: A crash course for the uninitiated 💥**

Barney Oram is coming all the way from the UK to blow our minds with a presentation exploring the process of recording, designing and implementing explosion sounds, with particular focus on the challenges around recording loud, rare and sometimes dangerous sounds.

[Barney Oram](https://www.linkedin.com/in/barney-oram/) is a freelance sound designer, working primarily in the video games industry. He began his career at Cloud Imperium Games in 2016, later worked at Sweet Justice Sound Group and in 2024, started his own company, Oram Sound Ltd. Barney has contributed to projects such as Silent Hill 2 (Remake), God of War Ragnarok and Halo Infinite, to name a few, and most recently finished supporting the audio team on Enotria: The Last Song, a fantastic game from Italian developer Jyamma Games. He specialises in creating visceral, story driven sound design, and is particularly passionate about the sound effects recording process.
