About us
Welcome to Gastrosophy!
Gastrosophy is a weekly community dinner in Amsterdam where people gather around seasonal plant-based food and meaningful conversation. Through shared meals and thoughtful dialogue, we create space to slow down, connect, and explore life's questions together.
The name Gastrosophy combines gastronomy and philosophy, reflecting our belief that food can be a gateway to deeper reflection, connection, and community.
We meet every Thursday evening at the beautiful Nyingma Centrum in the heart of Amsterdam.
While the gathering is hosted in a Tibetan Buddhist center, people of all backgrounds and beliefs are warmly welcome. No prior interest in Buddhism is required.
Our seasonal, plant-based meals are carefully prepared by Samantha and Lorenzo, graduates of Slow Food's university in Italy.
To support the venue and cover ingredients and preparation costs, we suggest a donation of €30–40 per evening.
Have dietary restrictions? We'd be happy to accommodate you. Feel free to contact us at sdellim@umich.edu.
We hope to share a meal with you soon.
