When Lake Champlain is frozen, the town of North Hero creates a couple of skating rinks on it's shore. The town owns a zamboni and has a proud tradition of keeping the rinks in good condition.

No skates? No problem! The town also keeps ice skate lending library with over 250 pairs of (nice) skates available for FREE!

Let's meet at Hero's Welcome and grab a coffee, tea or hot chocolate, and then lace-up and glide (or if you are like me, try to stay upright) across the ice.

252 Club* Bag: North Hero

WHERE TO MEET: In the front food area of Hero's Welcome. Until 5 PM and on the ice after that. I will wear my medium blue jacket, blue hat and gloves and dark gray snow pants.

WHAT TO EXPECT: A fun time meeting new people while getting some fresh air. Your beverage will likely cost $5.

CANCELLATION: If the weather is grim, I'll post a cancellation by noon.

Just a reminder that meetup.com is a platform that allows us to get together without the assumption that event organizers or leaders are licensed, insured or experts. Please join us without the expectation of bubble wrap.

*What is the 252 Club? (Well, actually it's real name is the "251 Club," but a new town was recently added to the list.) It is a club that people join, touch all 251/2 townships in Vermont, and earn a certificate of completion. Peter and I are simply tracking the towns we touch on our own. Our rule is that we must do some type of activity in the town and then take a picture of ourselves (and anyone we did the activity with) near a sign or structure that is unique to the town.
