Test Kitchen Challenge: Street Food
This month’s challenge—should you choose to accept it—is street food. Think La Taqueria’s legendary tacos dripping with salsa, Roli Roti’s crispy porchetta sandwich, Señor Sisig’s Filipino-Mexican burritos, Curry Up Now’s tikka masala burritos, JapaCurry’s curry wraps, or the late-night king of the streets: the bacon-wrapped hot dog. If it’s served from a cart, stall, or truck, it’s on the menu.

Your Mission:

• Post your dish at least 2 weeks before the Test Kitchen in the event’s Comments so fellow cooks know what’s rolling in.
• Go bold—try unexpected mashups, play with global flavors, or reinvent a street food classic.
• And remember, even if your experiment takes a detour, always bring it to the table! Sharing the flops alongside the showstoppers is how we grow as cooks and keep this community vibrant.

So fire up your griddle, skewer your kebabs, wrap those burritos, and let’s turn Hayes Valley into our own open-air food market.
