Cooks! December’s Test Kitchen is lighting up the longest night of the year—Sunday, December 21, in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley!

This month’s optional challenge: Winter Solstice dishes! Think cozy, glowing, and a little bit witchy. Channel your inner kitchen druid with something that honors the dark or celebrates the return of the light. Think roasted root veggies with maple and thyme, saffron rice with pomegranate, citrus-glazed chicken, baked brie with honey and herbs, ginger cake, or pears poached in mulled wine.
