Welcome to Gays Who Gammon – a social group for gay men in San Diego who are into backgammon (or want to learn), great conversation, and local coffee and wine spots.
Whether you’ve been playing for years or want to learn the board in 5 minutes, come hang out and roll some dice. Meetups are kept intentionally small so everyone gets to play, rotate matches, and actually talk. All skill levels welcome!

Gays Who Gammon: Backgammon & Wine @ The Rose
The Rose Wine Bar, 2219 30th Street, San Diego, CA, USCome hang out for a casual Gays Who Gammon meetup at The Rose Wine Bar in South Park!
We’ll grab a table, order some wine or food, and set up some boards for a relaxed evening of casual play and great conversation. Since The Rose is letting us use their space, please plan on ordering a drink or bite to support the venue.
Never played before? No problem at all—I'll teach you the basics in 5 minutes when you arrive! If you're a complete beginner and like to preview things beforehand, check out this quick 3-Minute Backgammon Basics Video, but watching it is totally optional.
What to bring: I'll have a couple of backgammon boards, but if you own a board, please bring it along!
RSVP Note: This meetup is kept intentionally small so everyone gets plenty of play time and table space. If your plans change, please update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance so someone on the waitlist can take your spot!
