The Google Developer Group (GDG-DC) is a developer group designed to discuss, discover and distribute Google technologies. This will cover Washington DC Capital Suburban area including Northern Virginia and Maryland.

AI / ML Meetup Series 2019 - GDE Uday Kumar - Human-centered AI systems

Details AI and Machine Learning Enthusiasts! Your GDG-DC organizer team is so excited to continue the AI / ML meetup series into 2019! This year we will attempt to have one of these a month and add additional events and insights. Event Details 2019: 1. January 28th: Human-centered AI systems - Speakers: Uday Kumar, Principal @ Metashore, Advisor @ Oland Technologies; 2. TBD - More to come! Next Event: January 28th Speaker: Uday Kumar, Principal @ Metashore, Advisor @ Oland Technologies; Title: Human-centered AI systems Description: With the rapid advances in AI/ML and their potential to transform user experience/outcomes are starting to catch everybody's imagination. Entrepreneurs and organizations are developing and applying ML models to use cases in a variety of sectors. When designed right, AI systems and products are socially beneficial, avoid creating/reinforcing unfair bias, and are accountable to people. By building AI systems with users in mind from the ground up, we open up entire new areas of design and interaction. This talk will outline principles and strategies for designing human-centered, “responsible” AI systems and products. Agenda: 5:30-6:30 pm - Check-In & Networking (with Food/Drinks) 630 pm - Uday Kumar: Human-centered AI systems 7:15 pm - Q & A 8:00 pm - Networking and Wrap-up Parking: There is free parking at the original Capital One Headquarters building (1680 building, as they have not opened parking to the new building yet, which is where the meetup is). Park there, then walk towards the largest Capital One building (1600 building).
