Apache Accumulo is a distributed storage system for structured data. Like HBase, Hypertable, and Cassandra, Accumulo's design was inspired by Google's 2006 BigTable (http://research.google.com/archive/bigtable.html) paper.

In this talk we will discuss running Accumulo on GCloud Compute. The talk will provide some pointers on how to set up automated scripts for deployment and share some benchmarking results.

We will address the challenges of performance tuning Accumulo to achieve high-throughput ingest including experiments around: SSD vs. disk, local vs. network storage, disk to CPU ratios, etc.

The talk will also include a high-level discussion around high-volume data ingest use cases.
