📅 What’s HappeningBuild with AI Workshop: Guided by Google Developer Experts, you’ll explore real-world applications, prototype tools using cutting-edge APIs, and leave with a working AI project — no matter your experience level.
Description: Air Traffic Control (ATC) is a high-stakes operation where immense cognitive load from synthesizing disconnected radar, weather, and voice data can lead to delays and safety risks. This session demonstrates how to build an AI-assisted decision-support agent using Google Cloud and Vertex AI to address this challenge. We will show how to architect a system that ingests, fuses, and analyzes these multi-modal streams in real-time, leveraging Google's powerful AI models on Vertex AI to summarize complex situations and provide a natural language interface for controllers. The goal is not to replace the human but to equip them with a powerful co-pilot that manages data, highlights risks, and instantly answers critical questions like, "Summarize active conflicts in Sector 7" or "Predict the weather impact on SFO arrivals."
Aviation Hackathon: “The Future of Flight Intelligence”
Your mission: Transform real flight data into smart systems that help pilots fly safer, instructors train better, and aircraft operate more efficiently.
We’ll supply you with:
Real flight & cockpit data (civil + defense training missions)
Audio, telemetry, weather, and FAA documentation
Mentorship from engineers and pilots at Navi AI & GDG
Challenges:
Analyze live avionics to see if maneuvers meet FAA standards
Detect pilot actions from cockpit video feeds
Predict flight risk based on pilot, weather, and aircraft context
Identify ATC miscommunications from radio transcripts
Build an AI copilot that handles second-in-command tasks
No aviation experience needed, just curiosity, creativity, and a laptop.
Top 10 Teams Take the Stage
At the end of the day, the top 10 teams will present their creations to a panel of judges from Google, Navi AI, and the U.S. Air Force. You’ll have 5 minutes to pitch, 5 minutes to impress, and a chance to make your mark on the future of aviation tech.
Prizes
1st Place: Take Flight
Win a private flight lesson in a Cirrus SR22 with a certified instructor — your chance to see your ideas take literal flight.
2nd Place: Push the Envelope
Experience an aerobatic flight lesson, where you’ll pull G’s and learn precision flying from a pro.
3rd Place: Build More, Fly More
Receive developer credits and gear (TBA) to fuel your next AI project or aviation adventure.
All Top 10 Teams
Recognition in press and social channels
Networking access with judges, mentors, and sponsors
Who’s Invited
Open to anyone excited by tech: developers, data scientists, UX/product designers, aviation-enthusiasts, and students. Bring your laptop, bring your curiosity, and find your team on-site. No previous aviation or AI experience required. Just a willingness to build, experiment, and collaborate.
