Build Your Own Wordpress Site | Intro to WordPress

This class is for beginners wanting to learn about using WordPress as a framework and content management system for a blog or website. You can arrive knowing nothing about WordPress and will leave knowing how to start up, build and manage a site.

We will cover the following:

• Introduction to Wordpress

• Installing & Setup of Wordpress

• Managing Content

• Plugins, Themes & Widgets

• Customizing Themes & Functions

You will be provided your own site with a subdomain at mygdiblog.com (Example: tessa.mygdiblog.com) that you will be able to work on during the class. When RSVP-ing, please let us know what you would like your url to be so we can have it setup before class.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Your Laptop & Charger
Sublime Text 2 or 3 (http://www.sublimetext.com)
WAMP or MAMP (ONLY if you want to work locally and are comfortable with it.)

We are honored to have Tessa Kriesel, a front-end developer at Windmill Design in NE Minneapolis, teach our class. She has a degree in web development and has 10 years of experience under her belt.
