Are you tired, sore, not able to go as far as you used to? Do you know something’s not quite right in the way you sit, move, or exercise, but are unsure of what is causing it?
If you have ever suffered from chronic low back pain or just have felt something not working well in your low back and hips during recreational or functional activities, it may be that you would benefit from a Personalized Yoga Practice. (PYP) In this small group setting, you will learn some of the most common causes of back discomfort, and which tools of yoga will help heal and restore balance. You will explore the biomechanical causes of back pain and learn specific exercises and yoga asanas which will assist you in helping you heal your back and prevent injuries in the future. Each week you will be led through a progressive sequence which will target your individual needs.
Led by a physical therapist and yoga therapist, this series will help you unwind how your body is possibly compensating due to muscle imbalances in strength and flexibility, allowing you over the course of 4 weeks to function better! Students in this series will find that they improve faster than with a typical yoga class because each person will practice their own customized sequence based on their needs, progressing as appropriate in complexity and challenge. At the end of the 4 weeks, students will be:
*Sitting without pain or discomfort
*Walking, running, hiking, or biking more efficiently
*Feeling more energized and supported in all their movements
*Taking home a Personalized Yoga sequence to incorporate into their daily or weekly routine
Instructor: Chrys Kub is a licensed physical therapist and yoga therapist with over 25 years of experience in therapy and exercise prescription. Chrys, E-RYT 500, is also Program Director for the Yoga Club 200/500/Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Trainings.
