Star pins extravaganza- shuffleboarding, tech darts, ping pong and more.

This is our monthly visit to the brand new gaming venue in Coventry known as Star Pins. There are a variety of activities there such as bowling, tech darts, curling and arcade games. This session will cover 2 or 3 of those games followed by the arcade section for the last hour or so.

You do not need to worry about booking or payments as I have all that covered- though I may have a small event fee per person to help recuperate the booking cost. Each game will last 30-60 minutes and we can either swap people in and out throughout each game or have two separate parties play each game. So you can just turn up, decide what game you want (ideally in advance), grab a light refreshment and get going. Just leave the boring stuff to me!

As for the arcade part afterwards, you do not need coins to play, as there is a device that gives you a “play card” which essentially acts as a credit card- pay to add to it’s balance (yeah you will need money for this part of the night) and tap it on the chosen game to use credits and play (it’ll make more sense when you see it in the venue). Additionally, you can win tickets from the games which are automatically transferred to your play card- these can be used to claim prizes and cool stuff from the prize machine .

We officially start at 6.30pm, and while you can turn up late if you want, you do risk missing part of a game in that instance- though we can drop you into a game this way too. You may also tap out at any point too- whether thats to leave, spectate or rest with a drink. It also is not compulsory to play at all- you can come just for the social aspect; drink, watch, sit and chat if that is your wish- as long as you enjoy yourself.

If you want to try a particular game let me know in the comments in reasonable advance so I can book it. Not enough money for drinks or the arcade? Please do not let this be a barrier for yourself on this event- if you want anything requiring money but can’t afford it let us know and we’ll do what we can to help you out .

The entrance is on Smithford way in the shopping centre (near the town library and job shop) and you can also get in via West Orchards way on second floor- although that may be closed in the evenings.
