Star pins extravaganza- bowling, arcade games, tech darts and more.

This is our monthly visit to the brand new gaming venue in Coventry known as Star Pins. There are a variety of activities there such as bowling, shuffleboarding, curling and arcade games. In this session we can freely pick from any of these games as we please- as one whole party or split off- however we want it!

You do not need to worry about booking or payments as we can usually book in for any game we want at the desk in the venue. Most of the games are also pretty cheap to play even with bigger groups so I’m happy to cover that cost- though I may ask for a small contribution from each person depending on what we decide on. Each game lasts 30-60 minutes and we can designate players however we want- be that swapping people in and out, having two separate parties play simultaneously or all as one. So you can just turn up, decide what game you want, grab a light refreshment and get going. Just leave the boring stuff to me!

As for the arcade area, you do not need coins to play, as there is a device that gives you a “play card” which essentially acts as a credit card- pay to add to it’s balance (yeah you will need money for this part) and tap it on the chosen game to use credits and play (it’ll make more sense when you see it in the venue). Additionally, you can win tickets from the games which are automatically transferred to your play card- these can be used to claim prizes and cool stuff from the prize machine .

We officially start at 6.30pm, and while you can turn up late if you want, you do risk missing part of a game in that instance- though we can drop you into a game this way too. You may also tap out at any point too- whether thats to leave, spectate or rest with a drink. It also is not compulsory to play at all- you can come just for the social aspect; drink, watch, sit and chat if that is your wish- as long as you enjoy yourself.

If you want to try a particular game let me know in the comments in reasonable advance so I can plan for it. Not enough money for drinks or the arcade? Please do not let this be a barrier for yourself on this event- if you want anything requiring money but can’t afford it let us know and we’ll do what we can to help you out .

The entrance is on Smithford way in the shopping centre (near the town library and job shop) and you can also get in via West Orchards way on second floor- although that may be closed in the evenings.
