DDL: NP-completeness
Location not specified yet# March 2026: NP-completeness; special speaker!
For March, we have a special speaker: Rodrigo Girão Serrão, travelling all the way to Dayton (through the magic of the internet, that is)
Rodrigo will take us through a beginner-friendly discussion of NP-completeness; one of those terms that computer science types use to terrify the rest of us. We can all benefit from getting past the jargon and learning how to think about these problems.
Rodrigo is creator of mathspp.com. He’s an experienced speaker and tutorial instructor, author of several Python books, and producer of daily Python drops tips.DDL is dedicated to discussion of technology and techniques related to dynamic programming languages: Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP, JavaScript, and sometimes something more exotic! These languages are fun and easy to get started with, yet powerful enough for all manner of professional use, and our members span the full range of experience with them.
We always leave time for general conversation and questions. Come try one of the most interactive groups around!
The Dayton Dynamic Languages User Group meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7 to 9 PM. We have in person meetings at The Innovation Hub and we use Discord for a live feed of the meetings, using the General voice channel at https://discord.gg/9SgTh3T

Code For Dayton
Arcade Innovation Hub, 31 S Main St, Dayton, OH, USCode For Dayton is a monthly user group meeting at the downtown Dayton Innovation Hub. The meetings follow the "hack night" format - a little discussion and show and tell up front, followed by an opportunity to break into groups to work on civic or community oriented projects.
Today, we are heading back to the Preservation Dayton dataset! Janet was able to contact the researcher who did the original 1996 & 2012 study. We're going to hack on some python to see if we can properly update the report with this new piece of info.
Check out CodeForDayton.org to find out more about us and what we are working on.
