Gem City ML / AI is a new group. It is for professionals that are curious about machine learning (ML) and for those that are interested in meeting with like minded professionals.

I am going to walk through a personal project that my family used to protect our child from unauthorized social media posts. Scanning multiple social media posts is too time consuming for parents to do, however it is not that CPU intensive. We used an open source face recognition algorithm (https://github.com/ageitgey/face_recognition) combined with some API scrubbers to automatically pull images from posts and check to see if your child was in it and then email any photos that might have them in it.

This meetup's goal is to have a space where people can present new ML/AI ideas, ask for help on problems they are working on and meet new people.

To kick off ML/AI group, we will have short talks about machine learning (ML) and how to get into this field. There are 10’s of million software developers and only ~300,000 ML/AI practitioners.
So, ML/AI training is needed.
