Tech Roulette: Full Stack from Scratch...Build a Web-Driven Car!

Details
đź’» Curious about full-stack development but unsure where to start? Want to actually build something instead of just watching slides? This workshop is for you.
In this beginner-friendly, hands-on session, Mike Chase will take us through a well-paced, practical approach to understanding full-stack development by having attendees build a simple web-based car that drives on a road, no frameworks, no libraries, just raw HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
🚗 Whether you’re a total beginner or a curious developer, you’ll walk away with a better grasp of how front-end and back-end technologies connect. You'll also get a sneak peek into tools like Node.js, APIs, and Linux hosting.
🛠️ What to expect:
- A quick overview of how the web works (HTML, CSS, JS, and how they talk to servers)
- A large portion of time focused on a hands-on exercise: follow along or experiment freely
- A wrap-up discussion on full-stack tools like Node.js, databases, APIs, and more
✍️ We’ll also have printed code booklets, so you don’t have to worry about keeping up with every line — this is about conceptual understanding and having fun with code.
👉 Bring your laptop and an open mind. If there's enough interest, we'll host a Part 2 with more advanced topics like neural networks and AI integrations!
We look forward to seeing you there!
