Donner Canyon Trail (Moderate 5.5 Miles)

Can't believe we've done like 10 hikes and have not gone to Mount Diablo yet, but I think it's about time we do it. With temperatures getting progressively hotter, I've opted to pick a hike nestled in forestry and all about navigating through creeks and streams. It's a moderate hike (5.5 miles) with a combination of mountain views and navigating through greenery. Also, I've chosen to start the hike a little earlier in the day because it's starting to get hotter in the morning and we want to avoid that afternoon heat. Make sure to bring some headwear as there is limited shade covering some parts of the trail. Unfortunately, Dogs are not allowed on trails in Mount Diablo State Park (you can get a hefty citation if you bring yours).

Alltrails Hike: Donner Canyon Trail

Parking: Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center (trailhead parking is only for residents). Entrance fee of $10 to enter the park.
Meetup Location: Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before 9:00 AM. We will start the hike shortly after 9:00 AM. Parking shouldn't be as much of an issue, but I recommend giving yourself ample time to find a spot before our start time.

If you are going to be late, please message early because we'll likely not have service at the trail. I'd recommend downloading an offline map of the area on Google Maps or the trail on Alltrails on your phone just in case you happen to get separated.
