About us

Generation Connect Austin is a local community for adults who want more real-world connection and fewer screen-first social experiences.

We host small, phone-free and phone-light gatherings where people can step away from digital noise, spend unstructured time around others, and connect at their own pace. Some people come to talk. Some come to create. Some come simply to sit, reflect, and enjoy being present around other people.

What we do
We host relaxed social events in Austin centered on presence, creativity, and human connection. Events include pouches to tuck your phones away and usually some art supplies, sparkling water and open-ended social time. Nothing is forced. You can participate as much or as little as you want.

Who should join
Join if you want a break from your phone, and experience a calmer kind of gathering. Introverts, extroverts, newcomers, locals, creatives, professionals, students 18+, and anyone curious about intentional connection are welcome.

What to expect
Expect a low-pressure environment. You can talk with others, use the art supplies we provide, journal, reflect, sit quietly, or simply enjoy time away from your phone around other people. The goal is not networking, performing, or being interesting. The goal is presence.

Registration and other platforms
Generation Connect events may also be shared on other community platforms like Facebook Groups, Luma or Eventbrite so more like-minded people can find them. We want to allow you to use platform of your choice.

Affiliation
This group is organized by Gen C / Generation Connect, an Austin-based initiative for creating phone-free gatherings for real-world connection. Gen C may be mentioned at events, but the purpose of this Meetup group is community, presence, and shared experience, not sales or one-way promotion.

Group rules
Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech, hard-selling, spam, recording people without consent, or sharing private information. Members must be 18+.
