What we’re about

We are so fortunate to be surrounded by such an amazing landscape here in the Santa Fe area. The deep canyons, dramatic badlands, and winding washouts that lead to who knows where. Slot canyons that inspire thoughts of wildness. Forest trails that guide us to vistas that beg from us a moment of pause.

As with any personal relationship, finding that connectedness to nature requires an intent; a dedicated time of feeling your aliveness, your presence within it. The author John O'Donohue embodies the intent of this group in Walking in Wonder: Eternal Wisdom for a Modern World. He says “Take time to celebrate the quiet miracles that seek no attention.”

How Gentle Walks Work:
1. Members will identify simple, easy walks/hikes around the Santa Fe area
2. We'll meet up at those places for leisure walks, taking plenty of time to stop along the way to note the minutiae of wonders on that path
3. Along that path, we'll find a place to sit down, and have nice meditation; It might be a simple meditation you construct for yourself, or perhaps a guided meditation

Gentle Walks Charter:
- Let's slow down
- Let's connect with this amazing place that we're in right now
- For this moment, let's try to let go of our personas, egos, those things that we spend so much time with in our daily lives
- Let's connect with others interested in mindfulness and nature
