Moderate hike: Upper Canyon Rd Loop Hike

We have hiked part of this loop and found it just right. This trek is a loop. We start (& end) at the Parking lot on Cerro Gordo at Upper Canyon Rd and , then in a unique part of hike we walk 0.5 mi down the road. Then up an arroyo and hillside by Talaya Hill (Not Atalaya, but Talaya), then down through the Pinyon, Juniper, Ponderosa forest to the TH, about 3.3 mi from the start.
Nice views, nice forest smells.
I did some looking and found several more potentially interesting hikes for us in the coming weeks/months.
Many quiet places to stop for noticing our thoughts and sensory inputs, but we'll look to meditate near the turn-around point.

What to bring:
Sturdy hiking boots or shoes.
Bring layers, extra clothing, and water resistant outer wear.
Water for a 2+ hour hike, (> a liter +).
Lunch or snacks (in case we/you get hungry or stuck, etc.)
Dogs: if quiet and well-behaved.

If you live to the south or close by, going direct to TH (Parking lot on Cerro Gordo at Upper Canyon Rd) may be easier for you.
