What we're about

You're learning German but you don't know anybody to practice with.

You used to speak German but it's all rusty now and you'd like to practice again.

You're new in town and meeting people who speak German just like seems a great idea.

Join us, we meet four times a month:

- every first Sunday of the month either in Kingston-upon-Thames or Richmond

- every 2nd Wednesday at The Old King's Head near London Bridge - main event

- every 4th Wednesday at The Albion near Kensington Olympia

-every last Sunday of the month at The Albion again

Please note that it is free to attend and beginners are welcome. If you are a beginner please attend the London Bridge meetup. Our other meetups are much smaller and it would be difficult to have a conversation going among us if some of you cannot participate and understand very much yet.

The venues and dates might change on occasion as we try new things and some people manage to book our usual haunts before I do.

See you soon, bis bald,

Alban

Kensington London German Meetup

The Albion Pub

Hi guys, I really liked The Mitre and perhaps we will meet again one day but for now they want a certain minimum spend which we cannot quite reach. I am sure this will come to as no surprise to some of you who have met us there. I also wanted to meet near Paddington to see if meeting near a big trains station helps. It definitely helps at the London Bridge venue but not so much with Paddington station somehow. Instead we will be returning to The Albion pub in West Kensington, famously renamed after yours truly. This is the pub where we watch films on the last Sunday of the month and it is also relatively quiet during the week which is very good for acoustics and a language group. It's very ... woody, wooden floors, table, sittings, the bar, the stairs and upstairs too. It's a bit bigger than The Mitre, more open too. The food is very nice as well, nice real ales. http://www.thealbionpub.com/pages/food.html https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=the+albion+london&rflfq=1&rlha=0&rllag=[masked],[masked],4495&tbm=lcl&rldimm=[masked]&tbs=lrf:!2m1!1e2!2m1!1e3!3sEAE,lf:1,lf_ui:9 Now for the rest you know the drill but if you are new beginners are welcome and it's free to attend. I give a coloured sticker for you to write your name on. Baby blue for beginners (no German at all), green if you can speak a little, orange if you are fluent and red if you are a native speaker. Most people are getting an orange sticker closely followed by green. We are not all native speakers, far from it. My number is[masked]. Bis Mittwoch, Alban
