About us

The upcoming U.S. Mid‑term elections are fast approaching, and many US citizens living abroad need help navigating voter registration and absentee‑ballot procedures. This meetup is non-partisan and open to anyone who wants to support that effort, regardless of whether you are a qualified U.S. voter yourself. Privacy and confidentiality are essential as the purpose is to empower voters not telling them who/what to vote for or against.

Two goals of the meeting:
For US Voters not yet registered to vote:
o Register eligible U.S. voters – Assist participants in completing the Federal Post Card Application and state‑specific requirements.
o Request absentee ballots – Guide voters through their Local Election Official regulations to complete the application process for mail‑in or electronic ballots, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Prepare for more events:
o Form a volunteer team – Recruit and organize a group of volunteers who will continue providing registration and ballot‑request assistance throughout the months leading up to the November elections.
o Introduce online training – Show participants how to access free, self‑paced training modules that cover the legal basics, data‑privacy practices, and best‑practice outreach techniques for supporting U.S. expatriates.

Why Attend?
Make a tangible impact: Your help can enable Americans abroad to cast their votes.
Learn valuable civic‑engagement skills: Training is provided at no cost and can be reused for future elections.
Network with like‑minded community members: Connect with fellow expats, activists, and locals interested in democratic participation.

Who Should Come?
U.S. citizens residing in Spain or nearby countries who need registration or ballot assistance.
Anyone (eligible voter or not) who want to volunteer their time and skills to promote democracy.

What to Bring:
To register you will need the last four digits of your SS# or your State-issued ID AND your US address AND current address outside the US AND your email and phone number.
A willingness to listen, respect privacy, and follow the confidentiality guidelines.
