    Note 1: Corrour is only reachable by train.

    Note 2: The YHA is filling up quickly Saturday night so you need to be quick. Ideally you should ring the hostel direct[masked] and say that you are with me. Unfortunately they have already run out of beds in the women's dorm, so females will need to be happy sleeping in the men's dorm.

    This walk is part 1 of a weekend of walks around Corrour. Estimated time for this walk is 9 hours. It is highly RECOMMENDED therefore that you have accommodation booked for Saturday night either at Loch Ossian YHA or at Corrour station.
    If you plan to arrive on Saturday you will need to get the train that arrives at Corrour station by 9am.
    It is 20 minutes from the station to the Youth Hostel.
    Alternatively, you can come up Friday.

    Meet at the Flotterstone Visitor Centre, ready to walk at 10am. We will walk along the switchback ridge via Carnethy Hill (573) towards Scald Law (579m), the highest hill in the Pentlands. The plan is then to go over to South Black Hill (563m) before going over to East Kip (534m) and West Kip (551m). Finally, we to return mostly via the same route, but miss South Black Hill.

    Possibility to extend the walk and do LOCH COULIN AND LOCH CLAIR, grade C walk straight after the Beinn Eighe mountain trail
    I did this walk last year and was blown away by the fantastic views even on a dreich day. It is very varied, gives a sense of being very high up with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and Loch Maree.

    A varied circuit on clear and well made paths with good mountain views. Beautiful scots pine wood and waterfalls along Easan Dorcha make this a perfect lunch spot. The final section of the walk has fine views down Lochcarron and across the sea.
