Three Lochs Way - Stage 1 - Balloch to Helensburgh C+. 157m

Details
Walkhighlands says 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 hours. A fairly simple walk with a bit of variety and some nice views over Loch Lomond at the top. There’s a steep and longish pull up the Stoneymollan Road but after that it’s quite easy. Last time I was there, there was much tree fall but that was a while ago now and I imagine it’s cleared. If not, there are bypasses but these may involve brief off trail diversions. (I’ve been reliably informed that bypassing may still be necessary, and is not such a simple matter, so be aware that this may be difficult, especially if you’re usually a lower level walker) Let’s muster at Balloch rail station for 1300 departure please. There are regular trains and buses at both Balloch and Helensburgh. Both start and finish also have many other amenities. I will likely arrive and depart by rail. If anyone would like to arrange transport relays (since this is a linear walk) please drop me a line and we can try to try to organise that. I’ll post dates for the rest of this trail soon. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
