CRAIGMORE HILL (387m), near Aberfoyle - grade C+
Ascent 344m, distance 5.5 km, walking time about 4h
Depart: Aberfoyle car park 1000
Organiser: Paul Harrison
This is a lovely walk I only did for the first time recently. It provides wonderful panoramic views west towards Ben Lomond, north to Cruach Ardrain, Stob Binnein & Ben More and round to Ben Ledi, east over the Menteith hills and south over Aberfoyle towards the Fintry and Campies hills.
Note this is a C plus walk with some fairly steep sections. It is on good paths but fairly steep in some sections and rock in one or two places so you may value a walking pole, especially descending.
We will meet at the car park in Aberfoyle (near the toilet block) and will take the minimum of cars up to The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre (5 pounds parking charge).
Details of the route can be found here: www.walkhighlands.co.uk/lochlomond/craigmore.shtml
Note:
Attendees at all club walks are reminded that they should abide by club’s code of conduct and safety guidelines.
