B.E.S.T Ride Orientation
Details
This orientation is part of our B.E.S.T. ride program, which will last five weeks and cover 10 to 30 miles. The first ride starts January 31, and we’ll go every Saturday after for five weeks.
You do not need to bring your bike or wear cycling clothes to this orientation. This entire program, including this orientation, is free… please join us!
Who: This program is designed for new road cyclists. You are welcome to join us if you are returning to cycling after a break, but please be respectful of our new cyclists. Could you please bring a road or hybrid bike? We are here to have a great time riding bikes and meeting new people.
What: This ride program is designed to be fun and educational while helping you reach your cycling goals.
When: Thursday, January 29th, at 6 pm Orientation --Training Program: Starts the week of January 31st, and
ends February 28th.
Where: At our Chandler North location: 2915 W Ray Road #10 Chandler, AZ 85244
Why: Because we love sharing our passion for cycling with new riders.
What to expect at orientation:
We will cover:
- Show up on time and prepared for the ride: Are you properly nourished, adequately hydrated, and your tires properly inflated? We are here to help with a basic bike check and assist with inflating your tires if needed.
- We will cover the types of water bottles that are suitable for this climate at this time of year.
- Nutrition: We will cover this topic extensively throughout the program; here is a brief overview.
- Types of bikes that will work for this ride: Road and Hybrid. We will cover the reasoning behind this.
- Helmets: You must wear a helmet! We will quickly cover the proper fit.
- Clothing: We will cover the best clothes to wear while road cycling and why.
- Bike Racks: We will provide a brief overview of the various types of racks and how they can simplify bike transportation.
- Shoes: We will show you the various types of shoes suitable for cycling.
- Lights: We will cover what you need to ensure compliance and safety.
- We will cover commonly used cycling terms and discuss the program, including what you can expect.
- We are here to answer your questions and help, so please don't hesitate to ask us anything.
