From There to Here: Stories, Cultures, and Journeys That Shape Us
In our next meeting, we'll continue digging into what it means to arrive somewhere new, celebrate the places we come from, and honor the cultures that shaped us.
We take the past FIFA World Cup as our starting point: a global event where fans from every corner of the earth pack into the same stadiums, sing in different languages, wear their colors with pride, and somehow, for 90 minutes at a time, make it work 🥳
That's the spirit behind this group, a space to embrace each other's cultures, ask the questions we don't always get to ask, and figure out together what we owe one another as people sharing the same planet.
Questions we'll explore:
- Have you ever packed up and started over somewhere new? What did you leave behind that you still carry in your heart and what ended up surprising you most about where you are now?
- What is one tradition from your culture that you grew up with and do you still practice it today?
- What is one thing from your culture that you wish the world knew more about or appreciated?
- What is one small thing each of us could do to make someone feel more welcome where we live?
IMPORTANT NOTE: This group is meant for friendly conversation, not for dating or romantic pursuits, so we ask everyone to be respectful of each other's boundaries.😊
Attendance Requirement: All attendees must purchase food or drinks from the cafe to support the local business hosting our event.
