Join us for a beautiful autumn hike through the Klever Wald and the historic city of Kleve, Germany—just across the Dutch border!
This varied circular route combines peaceful forest trails, historic gardens, scenic viewpoints and some of Kleve’s most impressive landmarks, including Sternberg and Schwanenburg Castle.
We’ll finish the hike in Kleve, where anyone who would like to stay can join us for an optional drink or meal afterwards.
Whether you enjoy exploring nature, discovering historic places or meeting new people outdoors, you’re very welcome to join!

🥾 What to expect
• Approximately 14-15 km
• Around 4–4.5 hours, including short stops
• Approximately 180 metres of elevation
• Moderate-to-challenging difficulty
• Forest tracks, narrow trails, paved streets, slopes and stairs
• A relaxed but steady group pace
• Beautiful autumn scenery
• A friendly and social atmosphere
Good general fitness is required. Previous hiking experience is not essential, but participants should be comfortable walking more than 14 km on varied and sometimes uneven terrain.
The route may be adjusted depending on the group’s pace, weather and trail conditions.

We will pass these locations as part of the hike. Entrance to museums or other paid attractions is not included.

Kleve Ludwig-Jahn-Str. bus stop

We will meet directly at the bus stop and begin the hike together from there.
For those arriving by car, parking is available nearby around Ludwig-Jahn-Straße. The exact meeting pin will be shared with participants before the event and in our WhatsApp community.
If you need a ride or can offer someone a place in your car, please use the WhatsApp community to coordinate carpooling.

Meeting time: 11:00 AM
We will wait approximately 15 minutes for everyone and begin the hike at around 11:15 AM.
Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start together. We expect to finish between approximately 5:30 and 6:00 PM.

🍻 After the hike: Food, Drinks & Socialising
After completing the route, anyone who would like to stay can join us for a drink or something to eat in Kleve city centre.
This is completely optional—feel free to join only for the hike as well.
The goal is simple:

🎒 What to bring
• Comfortable hiking shoes with good grip
• At least one litre of water
• Lunch or snacks
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• A warm layer and waterproof jacket
• A fully charged phone
• Trekking poles, if you normally use them
• A good mood and willingness to meet new people 😊
Because parts of the route include narrow paths, slopes, stairs and uneven woodland terrain, this hike is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.
