The Weekenders (VS) - Panthertown Loop with Falls and Overlooks

"The Weekenders" is a GNHA group that hikes on Saturdays or Sundays. Although hike distance, elevation gain and pace may vary, hikes will conform to the GNHA Hike Rating System for VS or VVS hikes. See the Hike Rating System: https://www.greenvillehiking.com/hike-rating-system .

This hike is a 10.4-mile loop through Panthertown. The hike will alternate between overlooks and the valley floor, with some waterfalls thrown in along the way. Points of interest include: Big Green Mtn. and Serenity Point overlooks, Schoolhouse Falls, Wilderness Falls and Frolictown Falls.

We will depart Publix at 7:45 AM. We plan to arrive at Cold Mountain Trailhead about 9:15, and start hiking at 9:30. (early start to maybe beat the common afternoon thunderstorms)
