GNHA Summer Picnic: Oconee State Park

SIGN UP PROCESS: You will go to the wait list when you RSVP. Once you've been waitlisted, you will receive a link to pay $10 pp (through your Meetup account). After paying, you will be added to the Going List for this event. (***Note-there is some lag-time between these steps.)

Join us at Oconee State Park for our club's 2025 Summer Picnic and Social. We have reserved Shelters 1 and 2 near the lake, with easy access to the nearby trails. The club will be offering several group hiking events earlier this day, or you may wish to solo hike on the lake trail and go see the waterwheel, or you can join us just to socialize and eat with your hiking friends.

Our chefs will be serving up a simple meal of grilled TRADITIONAL hamburgers/hotdogs/Brats and VEGGIE burgers with potato chips, potato salad, Martine slaw and tea for a reasonable cost of $10 per person. Volunteers may sign up to bring some homemade potato salad or desserts. Please indicate in “comments” if you would like to bring one of these food items.

NEW!!! If you would like a “Beyond” veggie burger, please tell us in a comment. The sign-up link will not ask you for your meal preference this time around.

GREEN Notice: For those of you who would like to be as green as possible, you’re invited to bring your own mess kit with plate, utensils, and cup.

This shelter site has limited picnic tables. We encourage you to bring your travel chair.

Oconee State Park does have an entrance fee if you do not have a park pass. Carpools will be arranged. We highly encourage hikers to carpool to the hikes and picnic.
