(S) PRE-PICNIC HIKE - Nicholson Ford to Simms Field / Licklog and Pigpen Falls

This is a PRE-PICNIC hike for the annual GNHA summer picnic. Sign-up separately for the picnic event. You may sign up for either or both.

Meet at Cherry Hill Campground at 9am to carpool to trailhead at Nicholson Ford on the Foothills Trail. Please arrange additional carpools as needed. The Map Link for the meeting spot is: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ghnXfhLSdYKas4eUA

Hike description:
We will take the Foothills Trail from the Nicholson Ford access to Simms Field, which is a popular campsite right on the Chattooga River. Along the way we will visit Pigpen and Licklog Falls. Near Simms Field is the "Crack in the Rock", a unique spot where the Chattooga River pours through a narrow gap in the rocks.

We expect to be finished in good time to attend the picnic after. Note that you will need an SC State Park pass if you will be driving to the picnic at OCSP.
