VVS - MTS (Skinny Dip Falls), Graveyard Ridge, Art Loeb to Black Balsam, Tennent

We will meet at the Looking Glass Rock overlook on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Please arrive at the trailhead by 9:15am. Our hike will begin at 9:30am.

Mountain to Sea Trail to Skinny Dip Falls to the Graveyard Ridge Trail. The Graveyard Ridge Trail then meets up again with the Mountain to Sea Trail and the ascent begins to the Art Loeb Trail and Black Balsam peak. We will continue on the Art Loeb Trail to Tenant Mountain and then down to the Graveyard Ridge Trail back to the Mountain to Sea Trail back to our cars.

This hike was attempted about a month or so ago only to be thwarted by high water on the Yellowstone Prong at Skinny Dip Falls. Please be prepared for this water crossing for we will cross it twice. There is a possibility that your feet may become wet. Plan ahead to determine how you would like to cross the stream.

This hike features gorgeous high mountain top views (6200' on Black Balsam), lush green forests, and mountain streams.
