GNHA Fall Campout (VS) Charlies Bunion and The Jumpoff

Note: This hike is intended for those attending the GNHA Campout in the Smokies. Campers will have the first opportunity to join this hike but if there is room, we may allow non-campers. Join the waitlist and you'll be manually added based on availability.

Starting at Newfound Gap, the AT trail climbs steadily for two miles. Looking northwest there are great views of Mt. LeConte and Myrtle Point. Continuing on the trail hovers around 6,000' along a narrow ridge. We'll bear left and take the Boulevard Trail to the junction of the Jump Off trail. There we will be able to view Charlie's Bunion and Mt. Guyot. Back tracking to the AT and on to Charlie's Bunion where we will enjoy lunch at the brink of the 1,000+ drop-off. Then back to Newfound Gap.
