Mingus Creek Trail is primarily known for an abundance of rhododendrons and wildflowers. The trail starts off on a wide path but begins to narrow and get rocky as you progress, with switchbacks and several water crossings and footbridges along the trail. These crossings may be slick, so please have good foot gear and be especially cautious after a rain. There is an active stream along the trail throughout the hike with lovely views of the surrounding mountains. Near the trailhead is Mingus Mill, which was built in 1886 and has an interesting historical story around it. This is an out-and-back trail which will take us about 4hrs with a lunch/snack break. Casual hiking pace of 2 mph. Car pooling recommended from camping area.
