HIKE SUMMARY: 9.7 miles, 2200 ft. elevation gain, pace 2.5mph. Hike leader: Charles D.

HIKE DETAILS: Meet at trailhead at 8:45 am. We will start at the Cedar Rock Trail parking lot at the intersection of E. Preston-McDaniel Road and Nine Times Road. We head up the Big Rock Mtn. Summit Trail to eventually reach Big Rock Mountain. Next, we hike a series of trails to reach an overview on Pink Mountain. Then backtrack to one side of the Four Tower Loop for more overviews. We then descend into the Nine Times Creek valley, cross the paved road and head up the Rocky Bald Loop and Cedar Rock Trails to reach another overview on Cedar Rock. Then back down to Nine Times Creek following the Appalachian Lumber Trail, next to the creek, and back to the vehicles.
DESPEAUXRADOS/ GNHA INFO:
The Despeauxrados group meets Wed at University Square Shopping Center. The specific hikes are described 1 to 4 weeks in advance and target hikes which are 10 miles long and climb 2000 ft. We hike at approx. 2.5 MPH, faster or slower depending on terrain.
