Hobo Stew + First Day Hikes
Details
Start off the new year right with first day hikes and a hobo stew with GNHA!
We will have four first day hikes at Paris Mountain State Park beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1. This is a fantastic event for new hikers to learn more about the club and the types of hikes that we will be leading throughout the year.
We'll finish our day by sharing a giant pot of hobo stew. Each hiker is asked to bring two cans of veggies (NO MEAT). We'll add one can to the pot and another will be donated to a local soup kitchen. Our club will also provide tea, water and spoons. If you'd like to also bring cornbread, crackers or another item to share, that'd be appreciated too.
We will eat at Noon after the hikes. The event will be held at Shelter #5 across from the Sulphur Springs trailhead.
Our Club President will meet all hikers at the hike meetup spot (State Park/E Mountain Creek Roads) to gather cans and direct parking. Please plan to meet there as parking is very limited inside the park. And please note that RSVPing to this event does not sign you up for a hike. The first day hikes and their links are listed below.
