The Weekenders - (VVS) Appalachian Trail from Sam's Gap to Big Bald Mountain

This is a VVS hike that starts at Sam’s Gap and follows the Appalachian trail northeast along the Tennessee, North Carolina border. We come back the same way. Spectacular views along the way and at Big Bald where we will break. My cell phone number is (713) 826-2434.
Meet at the University Square plaza Publix at 8:15 to form carpools to leave at 8:30 am sharp.
Trailhead at 10 am. We will gather and begin the hike shortly after 10 am.
We'll hike at about 2..5 mph depending on terrain.

Search Google maps "Appalachian Trail Sams Gap" for parking location. The exit off of I-26W is exit #3 toward Wolf Laurel. You'll take a right on to US-23 ALT and go about 3 miles with parking on your left close to the I-26 overpass.
Parking is on east side of I-26
