(S) — Dean's List: Eastatoe Passage Loop to Raven Rock

Starting at Roy F Jones fishing access the trail travels along the river. It is mostly flat through the woods. The river is beautiful and lots of fishermen. We then ascend switch backs until we enter Keowee-Toxaway State Park. Here we deviate from the Palmetto Trail and make loop to Raven’s Rock for lunch overlooking Lake Keowee. We complete the loop back to the start and then retrace our path to the cars. Trail has several interesting unique suspension bridges over the river. It goes up and down for a reasonable work out along the way. Will try to keep a steady pace of 2.2 miles per hour. Should be a fun hike.This is not particularly technical hike so footing should be okay.
Meet near Mr. Salsa in Publix parking lot for a 8:30 departure and at Roy F. Jones parking area (In Google Maps: "Eastatoe Passage of the Palmetto Trail") at 9:15. Please indicate whether you are car pooling or meeting at the trailhead.
