(VS) Petroglyphs, Drawbar Cliffs via The Rock entrance

Drive RT: 50 MI, $4.00
8:30am: University Square (park to the left in the Publix parking lot across from Mr. Salsa) meet at 8:15am to form carpools and leave promptly at 8:30am or at Rick's place on Woodmere Drive, Pickens, SC at 9:10am.
This is a beautiful hike with gradual climbs and long range winter views. We will park at Rick's Place at the end of Woodmere Drive in Pickens. From here we will hike to the Palmetto Trail and continue along a couple logging roads. Near the top, we will look at the "petroglyphs". Here we join the Foothills trail to Drawbar Cliffs for lunch. We return the same way with a quick stop at Lighthouse campsite to look at the rock formations.
For those meeting at the trailhead PLEASE READ: Google map- Woodmere Drive, Pickens, SC . We are in a private community. From Cherokee Foothills Pkwy, turn on Sliding Rock Rd, then right on Woodmere Drive. Drive all the way to the end of Woodmere. Rick's property trail is on the right prior to the steep part at the end of the road. Please turn around and PARK FACING DOWN THE HILL on the opposite side of the trail. Park ON THE ROAD, not on the shoulder.
