The Despeauxrados (VS) Hikes - FHT from Sassafras Mtn to Long Ridge Rd and Back

This week we will perform an inspection hike of the FHT from Sassafras Mtn to the Long Ridge Rd area and back as requested by FTC Maintenance following last week's ice storm(s). The GNHA club assists the FTC in maintaining this section.
Mileage: about 10 miles and Elev. Gain: ~2,000', Pace: 2.5 mph

Trailhead - meet at 9:15, ready to hike at the parking area at top of Sassafras Mountain Rd.

This group meets Wed at University Square Shopping Center. The specific hikes are described 1 to 4 weeks in advance and target hikes which are 10 miles long and climb 2000 ft. We hike at approx. 2.5 MPH, faster or slower depending on terrain.
