Hike Summary: 10.5 miles and 2,025 ft. eg

Hike Details: We will meet at the Jones Gap Trailhead (parking lot on right before fish pond and ranger Station). Arrive here in time to start hiking at 8:45 AM. We proceed up the Jones Gap Trail, then branch off on the Cold Spring Branch trail. Next we take the Cold Spring Branch Connector to the Frank Coggins Trail. This will put us at the Caesars Head Visitor Center, Picnic Area (bathrooms) and overlook at lunchtime. After lunch, we will retrace our route back to Jones Gap parking area. This hike provides nice stream-side views, crossings on Cold Spring Branch and iconic SC overlook.

This group meets Wed at University Square Shopping Center. The specific hikes are described and target hikes which are 10 miles long and climb 2000 ft. We hike at approx. 2.5 MPH, faster or slower depending on terrain.
