Despeauxrados (VS) Davidson River - Art Loeb Loop
Details
Hike Details: Starts from Pisgah Ranger Station. We start on the Andy Cove Loop next to the Ranger Station, then take off on the "Exercise Trail" on our way to the beginning of the Art Loeb Trail. We get nice views of the Davidson River. Next, we hike the first 3.2 miles of the National Scenic Trail, on our way to the North Slope Connector. We take the Connector to the North Slope Trail, and follow it to the Davidson River. Along the river trail, we will stop at a classic swimming hole use by locals and tourist for nearly 100 years. After a dip, we hike 1.3 miles of flat trail back to the vehicles. If you plan to swim, bring a towel for you and your car seat.

This group meets Wed at University Square Shopping Center. The specific hikes are described 1 to 4 weeks in advance and target hikes which are 10 miles long and climb 2000 ft. We hike at approx. 2.5 MPH, faster or slower depending on terrain.
