(S) Green River and Bear Branch Loop

8:30 AM Lowes Foods Pelham Rd.

9:35AM Trailhead- (Trailhead parking is across from trailhead and NEXT to the bridge, Google maps address: 3770-3934, Green River Cove Rd, Saluda, NC 28773) If the lot is full, there is parking on the other side of the bridge.

Hurricane Helene has changed this hike a bit- our usual lunch spot by the boulders is no more as the extension trail has been lost to a landslide, but we can still do the loop and have lunch by the river. Many trees down have left the initial uphill climb wide open with no shade. This is a very strenuous climb but then the hike will even out to more gentle ups and downs.
At the river we sit along the river and have lunch. It is a moderate up and down hike as we make our way back along the green river.

My carpool may make an adult beverage and snack stop on the way back in Saluda. All invited.

Bring comfortable, solid hiking shoes, plenty of water and snacks. We leave LOWES FOODS promptly at 8:30am. Leave no trace!
