Description:

Meet at University Square at 8:30 or at Keeowee Toxaway State Park at 9:15.

This hike is a perfect quick getaway, featuring a natural bridge with rocky outcrops, a lakeshore campsite, and a beautiful stream crossing. The trail starts easy and crosses Poe Creek over a natural granite bridge. The next section is uphill, eventually reaching the top of a steep valley. From there, you'll climb out to the ridge and generally walk along it until you descend to Lake Keowee. The way back involves a lot of uphill and steep downhill, along with a nice river crossing. The last leg is uphill and ends at the old church and the parking lot. This is a figure 8 loop hike. We will lunch at Raven Rock overlooking the lake.
