Raven Cliff Falls Loop
Our hike will start at the Raven Cliff Falls parking area on hwy 276 and head down to Matthews Creek on the Dismal Trail. We then cross the creek, climb past Cathedral Rock, and up to the suspension bridge at the top of the falls. We finish with a loop back to the trailhead. We haven't hiked this nice loop recently because much of the route was closed due to damage from storms, but it has recently been reopened. It will be interesting to see how the landscape has been altered. Hike is about 8 miles with 2,000 ft EG
*** Carpooling group meets at University Square at 7:45am for a prompt 8:00 am departure. About 60 miles, $5.00. Or meet at Raven Cliff Falls trailhead on hwy 276 at 9:00 am. Note: parking fee or State Park Pass required.
Times and Locations:
This group meets Wed at University Square Shopping Center. The specific hikes are described 1 to 4 weeks in advance and target hikes which are 10 miles long and climb 2000 ft. We hike at approx. 2.5 MPH, faster or slower depending on terrain.
