New Members & General Coffee Social:
Our long running new members coffee evenings are a regular monthly event, aimed at new members, and existing and regular members alike. All are welcome. We usually meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month (except December).
We have two venues. We meet at 6:45pm at 200 DEGREES COFFEE, and we move onto a neighboring venue at 8pm when the coffee lounge closes. We will look out for people until 7pm, though obviously no point in RSVP'ing if you can't arrive until much later than that. Arriving early helps secure seating, so please do! And please mark your diary so that you remember to join us.
Main Venue:
The address of 200 DEGREES COFFEE is 21-23 COLMORE ROW, BIRMINGHAM, B3 2BH, For anyone unfamiliar with the area, this is in the Centre of the City within a few minutes walk of the Central Train Stations.
Birmingham – 200 Degrees CoffeeThey serve food and other drinks, as well as warm beverages, so going direct from work is quite viable.
Contingency Only:
If for any reason, The Coffee Lounge closes early (e.g. due to unforeseen staff shortages), we will head to The Purecraft Bar & Kitchen at 30 Waterloo Street, B2 52J, by Victoria Square This is often our second venue anyway, it serves good coffee, and is a short walk awayWhat To Expect:
We will spend a couple of hours, getting to know other members and can chat about ideas for GO:Heart of England events as you wish. This is also a good opportunity to find about other GO:Heart Of England events, and to decide which ones you plan to attend. But first and foremost we are here to mingle, relax and socialize. We will be in the main seating area, wherever there is table space. Arriving alone isn't an issue, most people do! The venue is small and we often place a small concertina-style sign with our group logo (green, as per top left image) on our table.
Please note that GO:Heart Of England existed years before using meetup.com as one of our websites, and since we are not known as 'meetup', the service staff will probably not know what you mean if you use that term. We don't want to lose or confuse anyone! We also politely request that guests don't hijack conversations with events run by other groups, as this would be impolite.
Emergency Contact: If you can't spot the concertina-style sign with our group logo, then there may be an emergency contact within the comments. You'll need to phone as we don't monitor the internet during events.
Attendance: Min attendance 10, Max attendance 25. As with all events, please RSVP courteously, meaning that no-shows and withdrawals in the last 24 hours aren't polite. Thanks for your understanding.
Hosting:
With a group of 15+, we aim to appoint a host. With less, arrangements will vary depending who is attending on a given month, and it may fall to collective responsibility if there is no volunteer. Names listed above as potential hosts will host or co-host on months when they are attending. - GO: Ceroc Dancing (classes and freestyle).See main event text, See main event text

Bringing a sycamore leaf
If anyone attending is new (or uncertain of finding others) then our simple suggestion is to bring a sycamore leaf. They're entirely disposable and it's actually fun looking out for those waving a leaf!
OR: Be a Group Welcomer
If you can arrive at the outset, you'll be appreciated if you volunteer to greet other GO members. Just ask. Up to 5 attendees can be co-hosts. - GO: Sociable Repair Cafe Afternoon (Lichfield)See main event text, See main event text
GO: Sociable Repair Cafe Afternoon (Lichfield)
LET'S MIX AND FIX!!
This is a recent community concept for our meetup events, where you can spend an afternoon socializing with other members, whilst getting your broken and faulty possessions looked at by an expert to see if an economical or free repair can be done while you're there. For this event, we will meet in Lichfield, though other locations (such as Bromsgrove, Sutton, Stourbridge, Burntwood) may be possible on other dates).
