GO: New Members & General Coffee/Social

New Members & General Coffee Social:

Due to the popularity of our previous new members coffee evenings, this is now a regular monthly event. Though aimed at new members, hopefully we will also find a few regulars there too. All are welcome.
We usually meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month (except December).

We have two venues. We meet at 6:45pm at THE SECOND CUP, and we move onto a neighboring venue at 8pm when the coffee lounge closes. So obviously no point in RSVP'ing if you can't arrive until much later, but we will look out for people until 7pm though. Arriving early helps secure seating, so please do! And please mark your diary so that you remember to attend.

Main Venue:
The address of THE SECOND CUP, which is situated on New Street, not far from Victoria Square, is 64 NEW STREET BIRMINGHAM, B2 4DU. For anyone unfamiliar with the area, this is in the Centre of the City within a few minutes walk of the Central Train Stations.

They serve food and other drinks, as well as warm beverages, so going direct from work is quite viable.

Contingency Only:
If for any reason, The Second Cup closes early (for example due to unforeseen staff shortages, as once happened), we will head to The Purecraft Bar & Kitchen at 30 Waterloo Street, B2 52J. This is often our second venue anyway. Turn right (uphill) when coming out of The Second Cup, and turn sharp right again before Victoria Square to ascend a flight of steps, at the top of which is PurecraftBar.

What To Expect:
We will spend a couple of hours, getting to know other members and chatting about ideas for GO:Heart of England events as you wish. This is also a good opportunity to find about other GO:Heart Of England events, and to decide which ones you plan to attend. But first and foremost we are here to mingle, relax and socialize.

If you are new and unsure who to look out for. We will be in the main seating area, usually towards the back of the venue, and an emergency contact number will appear below if all else fails. Arriving alone is not an issue, most people do! The venue is small and we usually take a small concertina-style sign with our group logo (green, as per top left image)

Please note that GO:Heart Of England existed years before using meetup.com as one of our websites, and since we are not known as 'meetup', the service staff will probably not know what you mean if you use that term. We don't want to lose or confuse anyone! We also politely request that guests don't hijack conversations with events run by other groups, as this would be impolite.
